PRIMARY
ROLE/FUNCTION:
Provides
overall financial management,
facilities management and human resource management for Kalihi Union
Church. Administers the Church's day-to-day operations. Enables and
contributes to the vision and ministry of Kalihi Union Church.
JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Administers the overall financial management for the
Church.
Includes ensuring the orderly functioning of the Church with respect to
accounting, licenses, insurance policies, contracts, government filings,
etc.
Also manages the Church's annual budget and ensures the proper approval
of all expenditures. Prepares a summary report each quarter of the
Church's overall financial postureand conducts a Quarterly Financial
Review with the leadership. Recommends to the Council of Elders any
prudent or necessary action regarding financial management in a timely
manner.
Works with the Church Moderator and Senior Pastor to orchestrate the
January Annual Meeting and the November Budget/Election Meeting.
Develops, communicates, and manages the annual budget cycle from the
request for budget inputs through the congregational vote in November.
•Administers the overall facilities management for the
Church
Includes authorizing the purchase of church furnishings, equipment and
supplies in accordance with the Church By-Laws, ensuring the proper
maintenance & repair of the Church's buildings, equipment & property
(including vehicles) & maintains a current inventory of the Church's
equipment & property (including vehicles, their location and an active
list of those who borrow them).
Implements a groundskeeping strategy that maintains the campus at an
aesthetically pleasing level.
Maintains an appropriate level of safety and security for the Church via
security checks, surveillance cameras, key & security code access, etc.
Reports problems with vagrants, visitors and any unauthorized personnel
to the appropriate authorities.
Administers all improvement projects to the Church's buildings, grounds,
or other assets by ensuring proper project management of their schedule,
cost, quality and manpower requirements. Also serves as the primary
project interface to the Council of Elders and Pastoral Staff.
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of local area network
and information technology of all Church systems.
•Administers the overall human resource management for the
Church.
Provides personnel administration and development, employee benefits,
and compensation support for the entire Church staff.
Supervises the office, custodial, groundskeeping, maintenance and
security personnel.
Directs the work of contractors, ensuring the contractual obligations
and task expectations have been clearly communicated and met.
•Administers the day-to-day operations of the Church in accordance with
the policies and procedures of the Church.
•Enlists the assistance of various Design Teams, Church volunteers,
technical experts, and others as required to meet Church needs as they
arise.
•Performs other similar duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•A mature believer committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Spiritual maturity proven in a previous personal ministry context and
evidenced by a deep knowledge of the Bible and a pastoral heart for
people.
•Relevant experience and/or educational background desired in
financial management (bookkeeping/accounting, banking,
investments, legal and insurance), facilities management
(property, grounds, asset management, and security), and human
resource management (personnel administration and development,
employment, benefits, and compensation) Prefer a Bachelor's
degree or equivalent.
•Well-developed
independent thinking and leadership skills: planning, organizing,
directing, coordinating, delegating, complex problem-solving, and
team-building. Must be able to operate effectively with minimum
supervision through the exercise of sound independent judgment and
initiative.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Superior interpersonal skills. Able to engage effectively with church
members, leaders, staff, and the community at large.
•Working knowledge of personal computers: hardware, software (word
processing, spreadsheets, data base, etc.) and networks.
•Must become a member of Kalihi Union Church within 6 months from the
date of hire if not already a member.
SUPERVISION:
•The Church
Administrator will be under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.
•The Church Administrator will be responsible for supervising the
office, custodial, grounds keeping, maintenance and security personnel.
•The Church Administrator will be responsible for directing the work of
all contractors.
•Revisions to this job description will be made by the Council of Elders
in accordance with the Church By-Laws and at their discretion.
